Counseling with adult outpatient services can provide the guidance and support that will help you through traumatic events and stressful periods in your life. Some of our counseling specialties include:
Children and adolescents, like adults, can benefit from counseling. Therapists can teach them how to develop problem-solving skills and help them cope with stress and a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. These kinds of therapies can address immediate concerns and also support a child in their development toward adulthood.
Many children, adolescents, and their families need help dealing with school stress, such as homework, test anxiety, bullying, or peer pressure. Others need help to discuss their feelings about family issues, particularly if there’s a major transition, such as a divorce, move, or serious illness.
Canvas Health’s skilled, caring clinicians handle all concerns related to family and child mental health services. We do full screenings and assessments, and provide case management to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. Our continuum of care, which includes access to day treatment programs, substance use services, psychological testing and crisis services, provide you with a comprehensive and individualized team of treatment providers.

Psychotherapist/ Clinic Supervisor
Welcome! My approach to therapy begins with you – your goals, hopes, and dreams for the future. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has everything they need inside of them. I believe people get stuck when they get disconnected from their internal wisdom. I believe people get stuck in strategies to try and solve their struggles, but those strategies don’t get them what they need or they pay a high price for them. Here you are, taking a bold step towards getting what you need, getting unstuck.
Collaboration is extremely important to me – we are partners working towards your goals, those things you want to be different. I see myself as a guide, walking with you. I bring a variety of tools as a guide. Tools to help shift the mind and patterns of thinking. Tools to help the body shift and release unpleasant experiences, allowing things to pass. Tools to help the whole person to release past traumas and adverse life experiences, that keep them stuck in unhelpful adaptations. My focus is to adapt and customize all of these possible tools for each unique client, building upon all their innate strengths.
While I’m focused on working hard with clients, there’s always room for humor and lightness. I bring my whole self and I invite clients to bring their whole selves into the work, not just the “injured parts”. I love a great joke or an interesting story. I’m endlessly curious about so many things about the world and people. I love movies and eating well. I love traveling near and far – learning about the world, history, and people.
For those looking for a more straightforward description, in my practice I use: Client Centered Humanism, EMDR, CBT, Attachment Focused Trauma Therapy (AFTT-A), Emotional Freedom Technique, Mindfulness, and Somatic Experiencing.

I’d love to help you do the same!

“It is not the bruises on the body that hurt. It is the wounds of the heart and the scars on the mind.”
As your therapist, my goal is to bring a genuine, authentic, and accepting space to help you navigate through this complex world we live in. I see myself as a guide and my approach is very much rooted in the thought that every individual inherently holds the capacity for growth, resilience, and positive transformation – and I am here to help you see it too.
Authenticity is my strong suit as a therapist. I bring my genuine self into our sessions, whether it involves offering encouragement or providing gentle feedback.
I am deeply committed to supporting individuals across diverse populations, with a particular focus on those who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color), first-generation individuals, and those with intersectional identities. I’m genuinely excited to welcome anyone seeking to collaborate on their healing journey, and I can’t wait to embark on this meaningful path together.
I have been working in the mental health field since 2018, initially supporting adolescents with severe emotional disturbance (SED) in a residential setting. I later transitioned to providing Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS), both in-home and community environments for adults. Throughout, I’ve engaged with a diverse range of individuals dealing with various mental health diagnoses, including behavioral disorders and trauma.
I incorporate diverse modalities, such as a holistic and culturally responsive approach, strength-based and client-centered techniques, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

I believe that suffering is a part of life, but also that suffering is a great teacher and nurturer if we allow it. No one can live your life, but you–and still there is a place for you here in the sea of humanity.
Therapy invites you to see yourself in a new, more glorious, often fractured light. It takes the stuck, broken pieces that weigh us down and examines them with fresh eyes, offering hope in the healing journey ahead as those pieces turn into our own solid foundation. Be gentle as you begin this next journey.
I have worked in private practice in an outpatient setting since January of 2023. I have been a mindfulness teacher since 2021 with a prior career history in the arts and HR.

I use relational and strengths-based approaches to help families move toward the positive changes they want to see. I stress the importance of practices of self-compassion in addressing shame and self-criticism. Additionally, I see the promotion of insight as an important step in demystifying, de-shaming, and empowering clients. This often involves orienting clients to the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors related to their presenting problem. I find that this psychoeducation and insight promotion can create some much-needed separation between client and presenting concern. From here, there is room for attention to be brought to their values, broad life goals, cultural identity, and vital strengths so as not to lose sight of their personhood through their struggles. Despite many of my interventions being focused on adaptive change, I also see the value in acceptance, distress tolerance, and mindful awareness. In this way, I see the role of a therapist as often not fixing client problems but rather helping clients change how they relate to them.
I have more than seven years of experience working in the mental health field. I am currently a student in the University of St. Thomas’ counseling psychology doctoral program (PsyD). My professional experience includes working with adolescents and adults providing individual therapy in outpatient and college counseling center settings. Psychotherapist
Adlerian Psychology:
My foundational approach is using Adlerian Psychotherapy which focuses on applied use of encouragement, ensuring a sense of connectedness and challenging of mistaken beliefs/assumptions/attitudes/behaviors about self and association with their world view.
I started this next level career as a co-occurring substance use addiction counselor with a mental health focus in 2017. I transitioned to fully practice mental health therapy in 2021 working with adults who experience multiple concerns with diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, addiction to behavioral disorders and trauma using a person-centered approach. I apply an eclectic array of modalities such as Adlerian, CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, ACT, Narrative Therapy as well as culturally responsive approaches that incorporate motivational interviewing techniques. I have a strong Christian faith, and I enjoy working with those of the same faith, and those of different faiths, and those who do not practice a religion or faith. Talk therapy is the traditional form of therapy most people think of when they talk about seeing a therapist. I work to help you find and address the root causes of your suffering, rather than to label and treat the symptoms alone; after all you’re more than just a label. In a relaxed atmosphere, I will work with you to address the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical imbalances that are causing you stress and discomfort. I believe that one’s emotional balance is important to every aspect of life and when it is off balance, getting the support to achieve balance is important. My goal as a therapist is having a listening ear, providing unconditional positive regard and most importantly empathy creates a unique and welcoming environment for those seeking these types of services.

Life is sometimes hard. It is okay to struggle and to need help. I approach therapeutic work as a collaborative effort towards mental wellness. I believe that a lot of mental health symptoms stem from attempts to meet needs in ways that work at the time and later lose much of their effectiveness. Together we can work to change these patterns and find a way for you to thrive in the life you deserve.
I have worked with clients ages 5 to 90, of any gender identity, and with a variety of presenting problems. My previous work has focused on students, residential psychiatric care, substance use and abuse, problem sexual behavior, clients in crisis, and outpatient care with adolescents and adults.
