Mental Health Practitioner
I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to walk alongside clients through their mental health journey, no matter where that starting point is. As a therapist, I provide validation and guidance to help individuals, couples, and families reach their full potential and find meaning in all aspects of life. I use emotion-focused, trauma-informed, CBT, DBT skills, and family systems approaches to meet client needs and build upon their current strengths. I am trained in TFCBT, an evidence-based intervention for treating trauma in children and teens. My current areas of interest include self-esteem and body image, relationship issues, and working with survivors of domestic violence.
Prior to beginning my work at Canvas Health, I worked for Family Service Rochester, a community-based mental health agency, helping seniors and people with disabilities maintain their independence and improve daily life skills. I also completed my master’s level practicum at Family Service Rochester. As a clinical trainee at FSR, I worked with children, teens, adults, and couples doing outpatient therapy. I also co-facilitated adherent adult DBT skills group. I have been at Canvas Health for over a year and have enjoyed doing outpatient therapy with teens, adults, families, and couples.
