School-Based Therapist; South Washington Alternative High School, Next Step, Pathways, and SoWashCo Online
I work from a strengths-based approach and believe that positive connection can create healing and change. As a therapist, my goal is to empower clients and their families in the healing process to discover their own brilliance and strength. I approach therapy with a systematic lens to understand individuals’ uniqueness and the impact of relationships and social systems have on their lives.
I have been working with adolescents, adults, and families for over 15 years. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as an advocate for individuals involved in the criminal and juvenile justice systems that were experiencing mental illness, substance use, unstable housing, and trauma; families involved in child protection; and victims of crimes. I have previous experience working to support youth in the school setting as a mentor and facilitating community input meetings with students, teachers, and caregivers.
