ARMHS Practitioner
I believe that each Client is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my philosophy as a skills worker to help clients meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, inclusive, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. I believe in the importance of a person-centered approach to mental health services, in order to help clients, reach self-actualization. Mental health services should be based on a continuum of care designed to help clients improve their supportive network.
I completed my Social Work Practicum at North Homes children and family services in 2019. While at North homes I had the pleasure of getting experience working in multiple fields such as; adoption, case management, ARMHS, and CTSS. When I graduated for College at Bemidji State, I started my career in mental health by working with survivors of trafficking, physical/financial abuse, neglect, and homelessness at Northwoods Battered Women’s Shelter. As the shelters first male advocate, I was responsible for counseling, crisis support, skills work, and connecting clients to resources. After Northwoods Women’s Shelter, I agreed to work for Leech Lake Behavioral Health in Cass Lake Minnesota as a in-school mental health Practitioner. I worked out of two different schools on Leech Lake Reservation with children from ages 5-18 years old.
