Substance Use Disorder Program Manager
No matter where you are on your path to recovery, we welcome you! Collaboration and support are important keys to successful recovery. I want you to know that our counselors will meet you where you are and provide education and guidance for the next leg of your journey. It is important to have options, personal power, and the support and encouragement necessary to make those very difficult decisions along the way. Our commitment, our investment is in your success.
I began my career in substance use in 1998. Over the years, I have worked with adults and adolescents in community, residential, outpatient and correctional settings. From the start, I have firmly believed that the greatest opportunity for recovery happens when treating the entire person, not the addiction. I am your tour guide, offering counsel and encouragement as you ride that wave out of the dark, shark-infested waters of addiction onto the sandy shore, where recovery lives.
Addiction is a thief who robs the individual of their personal power, their dignity, their relationships and their agency. Through compassionate, client-centered counseling coupled with practical application of skills, I have been privileged to bear witness to many successful journeys. With skills such as thought management techniques, cognitive behavioral strategies, methods to cope with stress, mental health symptoms and the overcoming of trauma there is hope for recovery.
Regardless of my role (Technician, Driver, Counselor, Manager, Director), I have always been passionate about recovery. I am honored to have spent my career helping others to achieve their goals for improved quality of life and lasting recovery.
In my current role at Canvas Health, I am afforded the unique opportunity to mentor other professionals, and, in that way, I have been able to continue to provide an excellent quality of care to the clients we serve.
