School-Based Mental Health Clinical Trainee
Nice to meet you! I firmly believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and my role as a therapist is to build a trusting relationship where we can reflect, problem solve, and foster learning and self-acceptance together. Many people seek therapy because they wish to feel better. If this is your first experience with therapy or an ongoing part of your therapy journey, I am happy to join you where you are. I take a personal approach in therapy, as no two individuals are the same. I use evidence-based practices that fit each client’s unique needs.
I have been a mental health advocate for youth in different settings since 2016. Before joining Canvas Health, I worked in school-based and outpatient settings since 2021. I have enjoyed working with children, families, and adults at every stage of life. My experience has included supporting clients experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and chronical illness. I’m trained in CBT, DBT, behavior activation, strengths based, mindfulness and play therapy. I am working towards training with TF-CBT and EMDR.
I enjoy watching movies, going for walks and hikes in nature, and dancing. I used to work at a Zoo (working with human teenagers) for over 4 years. Please share fun animal facts with me. My faith is important to me, I identify as a Christian. I would enjoy hearing about the cultural and spiritual beliefs that are important to you.
